The singer announced the news on Thursday, September 25, through Instagram, sharing the first pictures of her newborn with her fans.

In the photographs, the 37-year-old singer could be seen holding Rocki, dressed in a pink onesie. She also posted a close-up of her baby’s small pink gloves tied with ribbons.

The announcement followed months of anticipation since May, when the couple revealed they were expecting another child. Rihanna had stepped out with her baby bump in New York City, while Rocky confirmed the news on the red carpet of the 2025 Met Gala.

The couple, together since 2020, are already parents to two sons, RZA, born in 2022, and Riot, who arrived in 2023.

Speaking earlier to Vogue, Rihanna had reflected on her journey into motherhood, saying, “I always thought it would be marriage first, then a baby, but who the f*** says it has to be that way. I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom.”

Following the Met Gala reveal earlier this year, a source close to the couple told People that the pair were “thrilled to be growing their family”. The source added, “Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn’t be more excited. Rihanna and Rocky are thrilled to be growing their family and they can’t wait to give their boys another sibling.”

The insider also explained that the couple wanted their children to be close in age, saying, “They wanted to have their children close together in age, so that they could grow up together and share a close bond. They feel so blessed and are so grateful for this next chapter in their lives. It’s a very special time.”
