She was reportedly trying to board a flight to London, police sources said. Amritpal Singh, who has built up a cult following across the state, claims to be the chief of 'Waris Punjab De', a group founded as a socio-political movement by Sikh actor Deep Sidhu.

Amritpal’s influence has supposedly turned the organisation into a Sikh separatist movement. Amritpal has been on the run since March 18, when the Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown against him and the organisation and arrested several workers associated with it till date, including two of his top aides Pappalpreet Singh and Joga Singh.

A senior police official confirmed that a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against Kirandeep Kaur. She was not allowed to enter the airport by the immigration department yesterday as she arrived at the airport to Amritsar to London (Air India AI 169) flight scheduled for its departure at 1:20pm, said sources in Punjab Police.

Kirandeep was earlier interrogated by the cops after Amritpal had absconded in March. Cops suspected her of taking part in raising foreign funds for 'Waris Punjab De'.

She is an NRI who was born in Punjab but brought up in the UK. However, after marrying Amritpal Singh in February this year, Kirandeep was reportedly living with him in Punjab.

According to the Punjab Police, Kirandeep has no case filed against her in Punjab or in any part of the country.
