The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines stated that the move is aimed at boosting tourist arrivals from India.

Indian nationals can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days for tourism. To be eligible, however, travellers must carry a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, confirmed hotel bookings, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket to another destination.

This 14-day stay is non-extendible and non-convertible to any other visa status.

In addition, Indian nationals who hold valid visas or residence permits from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen countries, Singapore or the United Kingdom can stay in the Philippines for up to 30 days without a visa.

This privilege also requires a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, and a return or onward ticket. Like the 14-day stay, the 30-day period is also non-extendible and non-convertible.

These visa-free entry privileges can be availed at any port of entry in the Philippines. However, Indian nationals with any derogatory record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration will not be allowed entry under this policy.

Indian nationals who plan to transit through the Philippines or visit for long-term or non-tourism reasons must still apply for the appropriate visa through a Philippine Embassy or Consulate. This applies in the country of origin, place of legal residence, or any country that requires Indian citizens to have entry visas.

Eligible Indian nationals can also apply for an e-Visa through the official Philippine e-Visa website. The e-Visa is not extendible or convertible to other visa or admission categories.
