There are over 1,000 weekly flights between India and the UAE and the country is now one of the most sought after destinations for tourists from both India and China.

“UAE has now become one of the most sought after destinations due to its close proximity to India. The country offers something to all travellers, right from the variety of cuisines from across the length and breadth of India, a huge Bollywood theme park, among several other leisure destinations,” said Manu Midha, regional head, Middle East, Oyo Hotels & Home.

Speaking about the continuous increase of travelers coming to the UAE from China, she added, “The numbers from China have also increased due to the introduction of direct and additional flights between the two countries. Apart from leisure travellers, there are several business travellers that visit UAE for business opportunities.”

Many leading investors have made investments in Oyo including SoftBank Vision Fund, Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Ventures, Hero Enterprise, and China based Lodging Group.

To address the growing demand, Oyo plans to have close to 12,000 rooms across 150 hotels in all the seven Emirates in UAE by 2020.
