Narendra Modi pips Trump, Biden, Lady Gaga to clock over 90 million followers on Twitter

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now one of the most followed politicians in the world on Twitter with his account crossing a following of 90.2 million, way ahead of world leaders like US president Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

As per a list released by the World of Statistics on its official Twitter handle on July 9, Modi is the only Indian who is present in its list of the top 10 most followed persons on Twitter.

Modi stands in the eighth position on the list.

He is ahead of former US President Donald Trump ( 86.6 million followers) and  American singer and actress Lady Gaga (84.1 million followers).

The list is topped by Elon Musk. He has 147 million followers on Twitter, the company he now owns.

Interestingly, US President Joe Biden remained below Modi in the list as he is followed by  37.3 million followers on the micro-blogging site.
