Mike Tyson’s fitness centres to start from Dubai

Impressed by Dubai residents’ obsession with fitness, renowned world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has chosen this dream city to announce of his new business venture, a franchise of fitness centres called the Mike Tyson Academy (MTA).

Mike Tyson will hold at an international press conference at the Burj Khalifa on May 4 and will give comprehensive details about his new business venture. This will be followed by the grand MTA Launch Gala on May 6.

When asked about why he has chosen Dubai to make this announcement, Mike Tyson told Dubai based newspaper Khaleej Times, “Dubai has established itself on the world map by hosting many leading sporting events and icons and there is definitely a niche in this market for a fitness centre that is associated with quality and driven by a hard-core, challenging philosophy like mine.”

He added, “I strive to maintain consistency across all my centres with trainers that have been certified by me as well as exceptional training staff who will be on site to ensure a certain benchmark is maintained. I am positive that this is going to be only the beginning of a long-running successful association between myself and the region.”

Mike Tyson is the undisputed world heavyweight champion and holds the record of being the youngest boxer to win the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight titles at the impressive age of 20 years.
