The US Embassy in Israel’s capital Tel Aviv suffered minor damage during an Iranian missile attack overnight, envoy Mike Huckabee confirmed on Monday.

No US diplomat or other staff members were injured in the incident.

He wrote on X: “Our @usembassyjlm US Embassy in Israel & Consulate will officially remain closed today as shelter in place still in effect. Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in @TelAviv but no injuries to US personnel.”

The video showed that the embassy building was damaged in the incident.

In another X post, the the envoy said: “Some confusion–there were NO INJURIES to US Personnel at US Embassy Branch–the minor damage to property were from the shock waves (i.e. “concussions”) from the nearby blast. Not human concussions. Repeat–NO INJURIES thank God!”

The incident marked the first threat to a US diplomatic mission in the region since the conflict started.

Iran and Israel continued to strike each other for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday, further intensifying the conflict in the region.

The Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service, told The Times of Israel 67 people were injured in ballistic missile strikes in central Israel.

They include a woman in her 30s in serious condition, six moderately wounded, and 60 lightly hurt or suffering acute anxiety, MDA says.

MDA confirmed three people, including two women, were killed in the strikes.

“3 killed (2 women, 1 man ~70) in rocket strikes across 4 sites in central Israel,” MDA posted on X.

According to reports, Iranian strikes in port city of Haifa, located 90 km from Tel Aviv, left several people injured.

Tehran has launched several waves of missile attacks on Tel Aviv since Israel conducted pre-emptive strikes on Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs on Friday, escalating tension in the region.

IRGC intelligence chief killed

Meanwhile, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence unit chief Mohammad Kazemi was killed in Israeli strikes, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported.

“IRGC intelligence chief Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi martyred alongside several other commanders in an Israeli aggression on Iran’s soil,” the news agency reported.
