ZEE5 Global is all set to mark its entry into the Malayalam content space with Kammatam, a six-episode crime thriller inspired by one of Thrissur’s most controversial real-life incidents. The series, which premieres on 29th August, is based on true events that shocked both Kerala and the rest of the country.
Produced by 23 Feet Productions and directed by Shan Thulasidharan, Kammatam explores a chilling murder mystery filled with betrayal, silence, and moral conflict.
The series stars Sudev Nair in the lead, along with Jins, Jeo Baby, Ajay Vaasudev, Akhil Kavalayoor, Arun Sol, Sreerekha, and Jordy Poonjaa. It will stream exclusively on ZEE5 Global.
The story begins with the death of planter Samuel Umman, who is believed to have died in a road accident. However, Circle Inspector Antonio George suspects foul play after he notices a missing necklace at the scene. His investigation leads him to Shaji, an auto driver with a criminal background, who is later found dead in a quarry.
A mysterious two-wheeler found at a construction site adds to the confusion. As Antonio delves deeper, the trail of clues leads him to Francis, a silent worker from Samuel’s plantation. What follows is the uncovering of a disturbing web of secrets and lies hidden beneath the surface.
