India’s official entry for the 2021 Academy Awards, Jallikattu, has failed to make it to the shortlist. The Malayalam film was chosen by the Film Federation of India as the country’s official entry for the International Feature Film category at the Oscars.

Jallikattu, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, was picked from among 27 Indian films, including Shakuntala Devi, Chhapaak, Chhalaang, Gulabo Sitabo and The Sky Is Pink.
