To celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, the LEGO Group has partnered with the National Museum of Singapore to launch a unique LEGO experience that highlights the nation’s rich heritage and vibrant culture through play.

Singapore’s largest LEGO mural unveiled
A key highlight of the collaboration is Singapore’s largest LEGO mural, created using 265,743 LEGO bricks. The mural depicts a row of colourful and nostalgic shophouses that reflect the early days of Singapore’s bustling commerce in the 1960s.
Recognised by the Singapore Book of Records, the mural was officially unveiled on 17 July by Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The event marked the beginning of the National Day Celebrations at the National Museum, which will run from 18 July to 9 August.

As part of the celebrations, visitors are invited to place the final bricks on the mural, helping to complete the record-breaking artwork together.
“Our Singapore story is a shared one. It is fitting that we commemorate SG60 by coming together as a community in celebration of our unique identity, culture and heritage,” said Low. “This record-breaking mural is symbolic of our strength and unity – brick by brick, every Singaporean has helped build this nation we call home.”
LEGO showcase tells the story of Singapore
The event includes the “Stories of Singapore: Building Our Heritage, Brick by Brick” showcase at the Stamford Gallery in the National Museum. Running from 18 July to 9 August, the exhibition features a large-scale 3D Hawkerman model and famous Singapore landmarks such as the Changi Airport Control Tower and bumboats along the Singapore River, all built from LEGO bricks.

The display also highlights Singapore’s food culture with intricate LEGO models of dishes like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab, and kaya butter toast with soft boiled eggs.
Adding to the celebration of community spirit, artworks created by students of the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC), inspired by the Singapore River, are also on display. Visitors can take part in a LEGO Make & Take activity where they can build their own Mini LEGO Orchid as a keepsake.
“LEGO bricks and play have long been a tool for storytelling and imagination, able to connect generations and inspire pride in creations,” said Ágnes Molnár, Marketing Director of Singapore, Malaysia and APAC Travel Retail, the LEGO Group. “We are honoured to partner with the National Museum of Singapore to celebrate SG60 and the country’s community spirit with visitors of all ages through the universal language of play and creativity.”
Singapore-inspired LEGO sets on sale
In honour of SG60, the LEGO Group is showcasing Singapore-inspired sets. These include the LEGO Architecture Skyline Collection model of Singapore (21057), which features landmarks like Marina Bay Sands, the OCBC Centre, Lau Pa Sat, and Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay.

LEGO fans can also purchase the LEGO Orchid (10311) and LEGO Mini Orchid (10343) sets, inspired by Singapore’s national flower.
From 26 July to 31 August, shoppers who spend a minimum amount on LEGO sets at certified stores can receive exclusive SG60 collectibles, including a gold coin and special minifigure.
Celebrations extend to the heartlands
After the museum exhibition, selected displays will travel to the NEX Atrium from 12 to 31 August, giving families in the heartlands a chance to join the celebration. Highlights include parts of the record-setting mural, a special SG60 Minifigure Model, and a LEGO Merlion.

Weekend activities at NEX will include a LEGO Dragon Playground Make & Take session. Visitors who shop at NEX can also get a free LEGO minifigure during the event period.
The LEGO experience aims to bring communities together to celebrate Singapore’s journey, using creativity and play to connect generations and honour the nation’s culture.
