The talks focused on deepening cooperation across key sectors such as trade and investment, fintech, skill development, healthcare, sustainability, and connectivity.

Sharing a photograph from their meeting, the Singaporean Prime Minister wrote on X: “There is great potential for Singapore and India to further bolster our financial and digital linkages.”

Senior ministers from Singapore, including acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang, were also present during the meeting.

Wong is currently on a three-day official visit to India. This is his first visit to the country since assuming office, and he is accompanied by his wife and a high-level delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials.

The visit comes at a significant time, as both countries mark 60 years of diplomatic relations this year.

The visit is expected to include the signing of several high-level agreements across sectors such as finance, digital innovation, skill development, civil aviation, maritime cooperation, and space technology. These developments are likely to give a further boost to bilateral ties.

Wong’s trip follows the third India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), which took place in New Delhi on August 13. During that roundtable, ministers from both countries reviewed progress in six key areas — advanced manufacturing, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skill development, connectivity, and sustainability. Several new initiatives were identified during those discussions to enhance cooperation between the two sides.

Wong’s visit underlines the commitment of India and Singapore to further strengthen strategic and economic ties in the coming years.
