ZEE5 Global is all set to premiere its latest Kannada original series, Shodha, a psychological crime thriller that explores the complex boundaries between truth, perception, and justice.
The six-episode series, produced by KRG Studios, will be available across more than 190 countries starting August 22, 2025.
Directed by Sunil Mysooru and written by Suhas Navarathna, Shodha weaves elements of ancient Kodava folklore with contemporary moral challenges.
The story centres around Rohit, played by Pawan Kumar, a skilled yet morally flexible lawyer whose life takes a dark turn when his wife mysteriously disappears and later reappears under suspicious circumstances. Rohit insists the woman is an imposter, sparking a tense confrontation that unravels deeper mysteries and tests loyalties. The series explores themes of deception, suspicion, and the pursuit of truth.
Kannada ZEE5 Business Head Deepak Sriramulu highlighted the series’ potential, saying, “Shodha is more than a suspense thriller; it’s an emotionally charged, thought-provoking journey that reflects the evolving strength of Kannada storytelling.” He added that Kannada content continues to gain popularity both in India and internationally.
Actor Pawan Kumar expressed his connection to the character and the story, stating, “Rohit, the character I play, isn’t your perfect hero; he’s flawed, he bends the rules, and yet you can’t help but wonder if you’d make the same choices in his place.” He described the series as a powerful exploration of love, loss, and the lengths one goes to protect what matters most.
Shodha promises to be a gripping addition to Kannada content on the global streaming platform, combining psychological depth and cultural authenticity to engage viewers worldwide.
