The selectors added Shreyas Iyer as his deputy in the Indian team that will visit Australia for the ODI series.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have retired from T20 and Test formats, were named in the 50-over squad that will face the World Champions on their turf.
While Yashasvi Jaiswal made a comeback to the ODI squad, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was rested.
India will play three ODI matches in Australia.
Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India had won the Champions Trophy title earlier this year.
Rohit Sharma and Kohli will be returning to competitive cricket for the first time since their Indian Premier League outings this year.
In the T20 edition, Suryakumar Yadav, who recently led a young squad to Asia Cup glory, was named as the skipper for the shortest format’s team that will take on Australia in a five-match series.
