Global Upside’s co-founder and COO Gita Bhargava and 10 other Indian American women entrepreneurs have been recognised as 2018’s most successful female leaders by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
The entrepreneurs won the ‘Women of Influence’ award at a glittering ceremony in May at Fairmont San Jose in San Jose, California, which was attended by 800-plus business leaders from the Silicon Valley.
Honorees were selected from the private, public and nonprofit sectors.
Bhargava runs worldwide operations and client services for Global Upside Corporation, the provider of HR, payroll, accounting, finance, compliance, global PEO and talent acquisition services. It operates in 100-plus countries.
The Women of Influence awardees include: Shilpi Sharma, CEO and co-founder of Kvantum Inc., a marketing and analytics company; Mansi Shah, a partner at Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property firm; Sindhu Payankulath, vice president of Global Network Operations at Equinix, an internet services company; Sonia Nijjar, M&A/corporate partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; Rashmi Garde, a general counsel at Centrify Corporation; Bindu Garapaty, director of marketing talent and leadership development at Juniper Networks, which offers network solutions; Mina Doshi, president at INTA Technologies Corporation, a manufacturer of electroplated and metallized ceramic and metal parts and assemblies; Esha Bandyopadhyay, lead litigation counsel and board member at Winston & Strawn LLP; Anju Ahuja, vice president of market development and product management at CableLabs, a research and development lab; and Vandana Agrawal, founder of Success Entellus, a productivity tool.
