India-US CEO Forum, Commercial Dialogue to be held tomorrow

The India-US Commercial Dialogue and US-India CEO Forum will take place in Delhi tomorrow. US Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, will co-chair the Forum with Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu.

“The US-India CEO Forum is critical to the fruitful commercial relationship and strong economic ties between our two great nations,” said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “The incoming US CEOs will bring fresh perspectives to the Forum and help us consider new opportunities to further deepen our cooperation.”

“The forum is an effective platform to highlight key market access issues that impact the ease of doing business and to identify areas for closer collaboration,” the department of commerce said.

“Both countries are resolved to remain engaged and take measures for further enhancement of bilateral trade. Bilateral trade in 2018 continued in spite of uncertain global economic conditions,” the department added.

The Commercial Dialogue will focus on issues including standards, business climate and investment and travel and tourism.

The areas that the India-US CEO Forum will look at include MSME, ICT, infrastructure and logistics, energy and environment, finance, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, defence and aerospace and media and entertainment.

The CEO forum was established in 2005. US CEOs serve a two-year term and are selected from respondents to a US Federal Register Notice calling for CEO-level applicants to the US Section of the forum.
