Pramender asked her for her Instagram and, when she declined, took her unlocked phone to enter his details. He then hugged her, causing her towel to fall off her shoulder. Despite the girl’s shock, Pramender asked her to go into the restroom with him and tried to pull her inside. She resisted, and he went in alone, calling for her to join him. She refused and went to get her female cousin. Pramender loitered outside the restroom, and the cousin asked him to leave.

After the incident, Pramender sent the girl 13 messages and two audio call requests on Instagram, saying he liked her and was waiting for her. The girl and her cousin reported this to the lifeguard, and a police report was filed.

The prosecutor sought a jail sentence of two to three months, citing the girl’s young age and vulnerability, as well as Pramender’s repeated attempts to seek sexual gratification.

In court, Pramender apologized for his actions and asked for forgiveness, stating his mother has cancer and he wished to return to India.

The judge, in sentencing, described Pramender’s actions as persistent and predatory, noting the victim’s young age and the shock and fear she experienced.
