In Pics: IDY 2020 celebrated from home, with social distancing yoga sessions

Millions of people across the world gathered in video chatrooms and virtual webinars to commemorate the International Day of Yoga with an emphasis on maintaining social distancing.

This year, due to the prevailing restrictions in view of the COVID situation, the IDY 2020 events were held through online and virtual sessions including live demonstrations, interactive meetings and webinars.

In Singapore, the Indian High Commission has planned a week's worth of online events under the theme Yoga From Home with 10,000 participants expected to participate.

The Indian Embassy in Washington flagged off the third Vande Bharat mission evacuation flight on Yoga Day and various consulates across the world organised yoga sessions with the attendees practising social distancing.

Numerous celebrities and influencers including Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Milind Soman and Shilpa Shetty Kundra shared motivational messages on the occasion.

Here's a look at some of the celebrations held.
