In Pics: Diwali-themed murals on public buses, trains and Little India station

As part of Diwali celebrations, the Land Transport Authority (LTA), part of Singapore's Ministry of Transport, highlighted festive public transport vehicles featuring gorgeous images of diyas, elephants, lotus flowers and colourful rangolis. Trains, five buses and the Little India station featured murals that were Diwali-themed, and will remain so for the entire month of October.

The Deepavali 2017 themed train was launched earlier this evening by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Masagos Zulkifli.

"Celebrate the Festival of Lights with your own unique Deepavali commute this year! Our #Deepavali themed trains and station are back with a different but equally stunning decoration - featuring majestic elephants and rangoli motifs that symbolise luck," wrote the LTA in a Facebook post.

The festive trains and buses are a result of a collaboration with the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA) and SBS Transit Ltd.

"Catching the themed trains or buses? Hop off at Little India Station, and continue your Deepavali journey under the elegant street lights right outside," it added.
