Singapore has expressed deep concern over the rising military tensions between India and Pakistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore has called on both countries to calm the situation and resolve their differences through peaceful talks.

In a statement released on May 9, the MFA said: “Singapore is gravely concerned about the ongoing military confrontation between India and Pakistan following the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025.”
“We call on both parties to de-escalate tensions through diplomatic means and ensure the safety of all civilians,” the statement read.

This follows India’s precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday, May 7. The strikes were carried out in response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which killed 26 people, mostly non-Muslims tourists and all males.
India has said the attack had links across the border.
In reply, Pakistan launched a fresh series of drone attacks on Friday night, targeting 26 places in India, including areas from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat.
Earlier, Singapore had strongly condemned the April 22 terrorist attack.
Due to the current situation, on May 7, the MFA advised Singaporeans to avoid all non-essential travel to Jammu and Kashmir in India and to Pakistan. The ministry warned travellers to be extra careful, especially near the border areas of both countries.
Singaporeans already in India or Pakistan have been asked to stay alert, avoid large crowds, follow the news closely, and listen to local authorities for safety instructions.
