Singapore-based online performing arts' education platform Creative Mentor is launching a three-day online course on song-writing with Grammy Award and two times heavy airplay award winner Victoria Horn.
Known popularly as Lady V, the songwriter will interact with aspiring and amateur songwriters with an opportunity to pitch their song to a top publisher in the United Kingdom.
Her first major songwriting release, a song from 2001 called "Days Go By" and performed by Dirty Vegas, peaked at No 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Play.
Since then, she has penned over 20 singles and 10 #1 Dance chart hits. Lady V has collaborated with some eminent other songwriters and artists like Eminem, Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz, Tiesto, DrDre, Silento, IL Volo, Icurus, Armin Van Buuren, David "DQ" Quiñones, Erika Nuri, Rodney Jerkins, and Evan Bogart.
The digital workshop initiated by Creative Mentor will be held from July 30 to August 1, 2021 for 10 hours each day.
Focusing on western lyrics, song concepts, melodies and pockets appropriate for the genre, Lady V will also share practical tips on how to get the best from demos and get them ready for a pitch.
Announcing the workshop, Shweta Asnani, Founder – Creative Mentor said, “The highlight of this course is to create a real experience on how A-Listers in the industry work and also for them to get practical experience where they may get an opportunity to do a pitch session with a leading producer from UK.”
