Google Pixel 4 boasts of more powerful camera, motion sensor, new apps

The Google Pixel 4 will be available in Singapore from October 24, at Google's official carrier partner, StarHub, retailers COURTS and Challenger as well as the Google Store.

The phone will be available in three colours – Just Black, Clearly White and the limited edition Oh So Orange. There are two sizes; the 5.7-inch Pixel 4 (starting at SGD 1,119) and the 6.3-inch Pixel 4XL (SGD 1,319).

With 6GB RAM, a 90hz display, and Pixel Neural Core, Pixel 4 is faster and more powerful. Google’s custom-built Titan M security chip will protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity of the operating system.

The new Pixel  4 comes with the series' largest camera upgrade yet. There are now two cameras on the back of the phone, including a new telephoto lens. Combined with the Super Res Zoom software, the camera provides you exceptional image quality.

On the Pixel 4, the Google Assistant is now a faster way to get more things done. Breakthroughs in speech processing mean that more requests can happen right on the phone, without having to be sent to the cloud.

The Assistant was redesigned so that it doesn’t take up too much room on the screen. It can quickly open apps, search your phone, share what's on your screen, and more. It also considers the context of your query to do a better job answering. For example, you can ask the Assistant to “show my photos from Thailand” and then say “the ones in Chatuchak Market.” Then, you can share a picture by saying “send it to Mom.”

Another key feature of Pixel 4 is its Motion Sense, which uses a miniature radar sensor to detect movement around your phone. It can sense when you’re reaching for the phone and will initiate face unlock, or turn off your screen when you’re not around. New Quick Gestures let you wave your hand to snooze alarms, dismiss timers, or silence your phone ringer.

The new Recorder app records meetings, lectures, jam sessions and simultaneously transcribes speech and identifies sounds like music and applause. Users can also easily search within your recordings to quickly find a specific word or sound.  Pricing and availability

Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are available for pre-order from the Google Store, Challenger and COURTS from October 16. The phones will be available in stores from October 24.
