Go-Jek extends services across Singapore, with promos for first-time riders

All consumers in Singapore can now get instant access to Go-Jek’s ride-hailing services, as the company moves to enhance its beta phase.

In a media release on Thursday, January 10, Go-Jek announced that it is extending its services across the island. After signing up via its iOS or Android app, first-time riders will receive two SGD 5 vouchers. The vouchers have to the used within two weeks of signing up.

“After the success of the initial phase of our beta launch, we are excited to extend our beta phase to all consumers in Singapore to give everyone the chance to experience Gojek,” said Gojek president Andre Soelistyo. “Through our gradual rollout of the app, we are ensuring that Gojek meets Singapore’s needs and will stand the test of time.”

Go-Jek began its initial beta phase on November 29, 2018. DBS and POSB customers were given priority access to the app. Initially, the ride-hailing service covered limited areas, such as Jurong East, the Central Business District and Changi Airport.

Earlier last week, on January 2, the service area was expanded to cover the whole of Singapore.

Go-Jek intends to further fine-tune its app and user experience during the enhanced beta phase. These adjustments were based on feedback received from driver-partners and riders using the service.

During the beta phase, Go-Jek has made several modifications to the app , such as enhancing the routing system has been enhanced to enable more accurate and quicker routes. This improves the waiting times for riders.

There is also now an in-app “Pause” function to allow driver-partners to stop new trip requests before they complete their current trip. Go-Jek also introduced a heatmap to show areas of high rider demand.
