1. Dance India Showcase 2018: Vibhava – Evolution of Kathak by Vidha Lal and Abhimanyu Lal

Vibhava – Evolution of Kathak traces the history of this dance, starting from the Vedic Age when it began as a sacred dance, to the Mughal era when it became a form of entertainment, and to where it is today.

2. The Origins and Heritage of the Asian Games: Dreams of Asian Integration during Late Colonialism and Decolonisation

The Asian Games had been founded in the aftermath of the Second World War, when decolonization and war memories strongly encouraged political and sports leaders to argue for more Asian integration. At the same time, the Games turned into a platform for shaping national identities and loyalties.

In this talk, Stefan Huebner will discuss the Asian Games’ origins and heritage from its YMCA-founded predecessors of the 1910s – 1930s to the precursor of this year's edition, the 1962 Fourth Asian Games in Jakarta.

3. Beerfest Asia 2018

The yearly pilgrimage for beer lovers locally and overseas, offers with the widest range of local and international beers, new launches or the all-time award winners. 

On Sunday, Beerfest Asia will transform into a family carnival with inflatables and games stalls, suitable for children and pets. Beer Workshops and Comedy sessions will be back in action too.

4. Singa Drum Gaia

First launched in 2015, the Singa Drum Gaia (SDG) celebrates the vibrancy and eclectic drumming traditions of the world present in Singapore. This year’s fiesta will feature celebrated ensembles DAMARU and Nadi Singapura, with prominent drummers Cheryl Ong and Pablo Calzado.
