Emirates has announced the launch of its premium economy service on the Kolkata-Dubai route, making Kolkata the fourth Indian city to receive this upgraded travel option. The new service will begin on July 18, 2025, and will be available on flights EK572 and EK573.

Flight EK573 will depart from Kolkata at 8:45 p.m. local time and reach Dubai at 12:05 a.m. local time the next day. The return flight EK572 will leave Dubai at 1:05 p.m. and land in Kolkata at 7:15 p.m. local time.
These flights will operate four times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The introduction of premium economy on this route is part of the airline’s broader efforts to offer more comfort and flexibility to travellers in India. Emirates already offers premium economy on routes to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, and the response from passengers on those routes has been positive.
The premium economy cabin includes 24 seats made of cream leather with wider seat space, deeper recline, raised leg rests, and adjustable headrests.
Passengers will be served gourmet meals on Royal Doulton china, along with a carefully selected beverage menu. Each seat comes with a 13.3-inch personal HD screen, Bluetooth headphone pairing, and improved Wi-Fi connectivity.
In addition to these features, travellers in premium economy can carry 35 kilograms of checked baggage and an extra 10 kilograms of cabin luggage.
At present, Emirates operates 11 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai. The new premium economy service will be available on flights EK572 and EK573. The daily services on flights EK570 and EK571 will continue to operate with the regular cabin classes.
