Eid Mubarak hashtag trends on Twitter as many extend warm wishes

Eid-ul-Fitr marked the end of the month-long fasting from sunrise to sunset during the holy month of Ramadan and was celebrated on May 24, amid the COVID-19 restrictions.

The President of India, tweeted his wishes in English and in Hindi. 

 “Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this special occasion further the spirit of compassion, brotherhood and harmony. May everyone be healthy and prosperous”, tweeted India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

India’s Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar who, along with  Indian missions world over, has been in the thick of the COVID pandemic repatriations tweeted his greetings and best wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr. 

Kerala’s popular Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan whose handling of the COVID-19 crisis has been hailed as an ideal one to follow, extended his greeting to all on the day which was also his brithday. 

High Commissioner of India to Singapore, HE Jawed Ashraf said, “As the month of piety, and giving ends and we mark Eid in a difficult moment, our thoughts must be with those in isolation, suffering and loss; prayers for the world to heal quickly and for kinder, more compassionate and caring future”, in his tweet. 

“Eid Mubarak to all and the prayers on this auspicious day for peace..”, began the tweet by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan who shared a couple of pictures as well. 

“In the end, it’s Faith that keeps us going…”, said Shahrukh Khan’s tweet. 

“Eid Mubarak beautiful people ! ❤️”, said Hrithik in his short but sweet tweet.

Mrs. Funny Bones, the popular Twinkle Khanna reminisced about her maternal grandmother’s celebrations on the day of Eid. 

The Emirates Mars Mission team tweeted their wishes from Japan as they prepared to launch the Hope Probe on its historic journey to Mars. 

The celebrations have been subdued this year amidst the restrictions imposed worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.
