Dhoni trends on 39th birthday, wishes pour in from around the world

MS Dhoni turned 39 on Tuesday and wishes for one of India’s most loved captains poured in from his teammates, fellow cricketers and fans from around the world on social media. Dhoni was even trending all day on Twitter.

Virender Sehwag summed up the 'Mahi mania' perfectly in his wishes for his former teammate. Sehwag wrote on Twitter, "Once in a generation, a player comes and a nation  connects with him, think of him as a member of their family, kuch bahut apna sa lagta hai. Happy Birthday to a man who is the world ( Dhoni-ya ) for his many admirers." 

A birthday wish for Dhoni which got a lot of love on social media came from Kedar Jadhav, who called Dhoni his best friend, teammate and captain. Jadhav posted a heartfelt letter to Dhoni on his special day. He ended his letter by telling Dhoni that the only thing that can unite the country and help them forget their sorrows in the current times is to see him taking a stance on the pitch again.

Rohit Sharma also tweeted a picture of himself and Dhoni, saying, "Cooling off with Mr Cool."

Calling him his favorite human, brother and leader, Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings teammate Suresh Raina tweeted a beautiful birthday wish.

Dhoni's other Chennai Super Kings teammate Dwayne Bravo gave a special gift to his IPL team captain by releasing a special song for him on his birthday. Sharing the full song, Chennnai Super Kings tweeted, "The Helicopter 7 has taken off! @DJBravo47's tribute to #Thala @msdhoni, his brother from another mother! #HappyBirthdayDhoni #WhistlePodu." 

Chennai Super Kings also tweeted wishes from CSK players who shared their favorite memories with Dhoni. 

Dhoni's wife Sakshi's birthday post for her husband on Instagram gave a glimpse of how Dhoni is spending his birthday. Sakshi posted pictures of Dhoni chilling at his farm in Ranchi with his family and playing with his pet dogs. She captioned her post, "Marking the date you were born, another year older, greyed a bit more, become smarter and sweeter (literally). You are a man who will not be moved by all the sweet wishes and gifts. Let’s celebrate another year of your life by cutting a cake and blowing the candles! Happy Birthday, Husband!!"
