Bullet train project gets training boost

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has given nod to design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of training simulators for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.

A sample track has been installed for the training at the HSR Training Institute of Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) in Gujarat’s Vadodara, said a statement.

The training simulators will help the drivers, conductors, instructors and train/rolling stock maintenance staff to understand the driving theory of high speed trains. It shall be possible to conduct training for single driver, single conductor as well as collective training of driver, conductor and despatcher together, it added.

The package has been awarded to M/s Mitsubishi Precision Company, Limited, Japan, at a cost of INR 201.21 crore. The supply of the simulator has been marked for a period of 28 months.
