The latest innings of the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in the form of the biopic film Sachin: A Billion Dreams is going to hit the screens tomorrow. The premiere of the film was a star-studded event with the Who’s Who of the Bollywood industry and the whole Indian cricket team at the event.
Star of the Millennium Amitabh Bachchan attended the event with Abhishek and Aishwarya, while Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan made solo entries. Sachin and his wife Anjali played the perfect hosts to all these stars. Actress Anushka Sharma and on-again, off-again cricketer boyfriend Virat Kohli also attended the premiere. Mahendra Singh Dhoni led the rest of the Indian cricket team on the occasion. Arjun and Sara, Sachin's children, also attended the premiere.
The film Sachin: A Billion Dreams tracks Sachin's journey from an aspiring cricketer to becoming the best batsman in the world. Sachin Tendulkar narrates his story and stars in the later part of the film.
Talking about the film, Amitabh Bachchan said, “It’s a very emotional feeling; apart from the life history of Sachin, I believe it’s a fantastic film for the pride of India. I was telling Sachin, this film should be shown to every individual in the country, it should be shown in every school, not just because we are so proud of Sachin, but how proud he has made the country. I am so glad this movie was made.”
On Thursday morning, Amitabh also posted a few pictures of him with Sachin and his wife Anjali. Praising the film, Amitabh wrote, “T 2435 – ‘SACHIN a Billion dreams’ movie last night ..filled with pride and emotion ..

The film Sachin: A Billion Dreams is directed by Emmy-nominated British filmmaker James Erskine. It is one of the highly-anticipated films of the year. However, Sachin feels that watching the film will be an 'unsettling experience' for him. "I am used to seeing myself on a big screen inside the stadium, not inside a movie theatre," he said.
Besides, excitement in India, there is considerable enthusiasm among members of Indian diaspora spread overseas including countries of Singapore, Malaysia, US, UK, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and other countries. M Capital Ventures is distributing the film in Singapore.
