India continued their unbeaten run in the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 with a 21-run win over Oman at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Thursday night, September 19. The match turned into a memorable one as Sanju Samson’s steady half-century and Arshdeep Singh’s landmark 100th T20I wicket became the highlights of the contest.

Batting first, India reached 188 for 8 in 20 overs. The innings was given early momentum by Abhishek Sharma, who struck 38 off just 15 deliveries in the Power-play. Shubman Gill fell cheaply, but Samson steadied the innings and kept the scoreboard moving. He found support from Axar Patel, who made a brisk 26 off 13 balls, before wickets fell in quick succession.
Samson eventually brought up his fifty in 41 balls, and his knock of 56 kept India in control. Tilak Varma added a useful 29 off 18, while Harshit Rana finished the innings with a six, taking India to a competitive total. Oman’s spinners, led by Aamir Kaleem, Jiten Ramanandi, and Faisal Shah, kept the pressure on and shared six wickets between them.
Oman began their reply with confidence as skipper Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem added 44 runs inside the Power-play. After Jatinder’s dismissal, Kaleem and Hammad Mirza carried the fight with a 93-run partnership. Kaleem reached his half-century and went on to score 64 off 46 balls before falling in the 18th over.
Mirza counterattacked and made 51 from 30 deliveries, keeping Oman in the chase until Hardik Pandya removed him in the penultimate over. Despite some late hitting from Ramanandi, Oman could only manage 167 for 4 in their 20 overs.
The Indian bowlers had to work hard on a flat surface, with Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Harshit Rana taking one wicket each. The decisive moment came in the last over when Arshdeep Singh not only defended the target but also claimed his 100th wicket in T20 internationals, becoming the first Indian men’s cricketer to reach the milestone.
India’s third-highest T20I total against an Associate nation and Arshdeep’s record made the night significant, while Oman’s spirited display ensured a competitive contest that went down to the final overs.
