Bollywood legend Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his family members - former Miss World and actress Aishwarya Rai, her husband Abhishek Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya - have tested positive for COVID-19.
The veteran Bollywood star took to social media to express his gratitude for fans' prayers and wishes for his good health adding that it wasn't possible for him to acknowledge everyone's wishes.
Earlier the superstar tweeted that he had tested COVID positive and requested all who had been in close proximity to him in the last 10 days to get themselves tested. More than 25 of the Bachchan family’s staff were then tested and the reports came negative.
Soon thereafter Abhishek Bachchan tweeted that he had tested positive too and father and son were hospitalized at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.
Jaya Bachchan tested negative for coronavirus while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya also tested positive and are currently under home quarantine. In his tweet Amitabh expressed his unending gratitude and love to all who wished them well.
The Mumbai Municipal authorities, BMC has sealed all the bungalows of the Bachchan family and declared them as containment zones.
Even as sanitization is reported to be going on at Amitabh Bachchan's home Jalsa as well as at Prateeksha and Janak, special prayers are being offered for the Bachchan family by fans and priests in several temples in India.
Politicians, celebrities and fim fraternity tweeted to express their concern, convey their wishes and wish the family a speedy recovery including India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Actors Sushmita Sen, Sonu Sood, Southern stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dulquer, as well as Bipasha Basu, Randeep Hooda, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Taapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Shahid Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia were among the many who tweeted.
Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Lata Mangeshkar as well as Anupam Kher - whose family members too tested COVID-19 positive recently - were among those who tweeted to Big B as he is fondly called.

Jaya Bachchan is the only one among the family who has tested negative. Twitterati were quick to latch on to that and come up with humorous tweets despite the seriousness of the news.
