He will replace Remi Maillard, who is moving on to become Executive Vice-President Engineering for Commercial Aircraft and Head of Technology at Airbus.

At present, Jurgen serves as Executive Vice-President and Chief Procurement Officer at Airbus. In his new role, he will lead the company’s operations across India and South Asia. His responsibilities will include driving sales for commercial aircraft, growing Airbus’ presence in the region, and overseeing areas such as services, engineering, digital, innovation, and training.

Airbus confirmed that Jurgen will also play a key role in advancing the company’s support for the ‘Make in India’ initiative. He is expected to lead campaigns that align with Airbus’ long-term goals in India.

Jurgen, who is 53 years old, joined Airbus in 2020. As Chief Procurement Officer, he was responsible for procurement across all Airbus divisions. He developed and applied procurement tools and processes while building strong partnerships with suppliers.

Before joining Airbus, he worked at BMW, where he held strategic positions in Information Services, Motorcycles Purchasing, Quality Management and Supplier Network, and Cost Engineering.

He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.
