This programme aims to improve cooperation in areas like trade, defence, energy, tackling illegal immigration, fighting drug trafficking, and more. Jaishankar also said on social media that they discussed many issues such as trade, security, new technologies, energy, and global developments.
Jaishankar said that the Pahalgam attack “was an act of economic warfare. It was meant to destroy tourism in Kashmir, which was the mainstay of the economy. It was also meant to provoke religious violence because people were asked to identify their faith before they were killed”.
Jaishankar will visit the United States from June 30 to July 2 at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Sunday, June 29.
The meeting, announced by the US State Department, will be hosted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and will bring together Foreign Ministers Penny Wong of Australia, Iwaya Takeshi of Japan, and Jaishankar.
