Tech giant Microsoft has announced its AI chatbot Copilot will not be available through WhatsApp next year.
The AI facility will not be available to the messaging app from January 15.
In its blog spot, Microsoft said: “This change is due to recent updates to WhatsApp’s platform policies removing all LLM chatbots from the platform effective January 15th, and as a result, Copilot will be discontinued.”
The IT major said it is working to ensure a smooth transition for users and enable their continued Copilot access on mobile, web, and PC.
What happens next?
Copilot on WhatsApp will remain available through January 15, 2026. After that date, the service will no longer function.
Microsoft said users can continue chatting with Copilot anytime through our surfaces:
Copilot mobile app: Available on iOS and Android
Copilot on the web: copilot.com
Copilot on Windows
After WhatsApp access ends, Copilot remains available on the web at copilot.microsoft.com and in the Copilot mobile app for iOS and Android.
