A Muslim buyer of the newly launched iPhone 17 has gone viral after he chose the device in its striking new “cosmic orange” colour, a shade often associated with Hindus in India.

In a video shared by PTI from outside Apple’s Saket store in Delhi, the man is seen celebrating his purchase with excitement.
Holding up the phone, he said the orange shade looked “khatarnak, and badiya (amazing and beautiful).” He added, “Particularly this orange colour will have more craze this time as the Bhagwa (saffron) in India is very special. I am a muslim, but I love this colour,” before kissing the device.

Queues were seen outside Apple outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru as the iPhone 17 series went on sale across India on Friday, September 19. While some buyers upgraded their old models, others joined what they called the “elite community of Apple users” for the first time.
The phones are available not only at Apple stores but also on Amazon, Flipkart and authorised retailers. Quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto are delivering the iPhone 17 within 10 minutes in select cities, while e-commerce giants are offering launch offers and EMI options. Delivery in metros is expected within two to three days.
