Crime, caste and inner demons collide in Bhuvan Arora’s Janaawar

Bhuvan Arora, who became a household name with his powerful act in Farzi, is now ready to lead ZEE5 Global’s upcoming crime thriller Janaawar – The Beast Within. The actor takes on the role of Sub-Inspector Hemant Kumar, a policeman from the tribal Chukwa community, whose journey is as much about fighting crime as it is about facing personal battles.

The series is set in the town of Chhand, where a headless corpse, missing gold and a vanished man disturb the uneasy calm. Hemant finds himself in the middle of a tense investigation even as he struggles with caste bias, social barriers and the loneliness of an inter-caste marriage. His journey is shadowed by the presence of Raakas, the demigod of his community, who becomes both a guiding force and a haunting reminder of his roots.

For Bhuvan Arora, the role has been an entirely new challenge. Known for his charm and sharpness in Farzi, he says Janaawar has tested him in a different way.

“Janaawar – The Beast Within is the kind of story that tests you not just as an actor, but as a human being. Playing Hemant Kumar was emotionally demanding because he carries so many battles like his duty, his identity, his family, and his inner demons. The trailer gives audiences just a glimpse of the intensity and scale of the world we’ve built, and I can’t wait for the audience to discover the layers of Hemant’s journey through the story,” Arora said.

The trailer introduces audiences to Chhand, a place where every man is forced to confront the beast within. Hemant, often called Chhand ka Milkha, tries to balance discipline with vulnerability while carrying the weight of his uniform and his own scars. The narrative ties his personal struggles with a larger story of identity, resilience and the search for dignity.

Produced by Aarambh Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Shachindra Vats, Janaawar brings together a strong ensemble including Bhagwan Tiwari, Atul Kale, Vaibhav Yashvir, Eshika Dey, Vinod Suryavanshi, Amit Sharma, Badrul Islam and Deekshha Sonalkar Tham. The show will premiere on September 26.
