A few miles away from the scenic Nandi Hills in Bengaluru, a large number of motor enthusiasts assembled on Saturday amid the buzzing sound of high-speed machine engines to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of TVS Motor Company’s flagship motorcycle, Apache.

The Indian two-wheeler major unveiled limited-edition variants — TVS Apache RTR 160, 180, 200, and TVS Apache RR310 and RTR310 — to mark the occasion.

The company also featured the RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V in the presence of bike enthusiasts during a celebration event in the South Indian city.

Speaking to the media, Gaurav Gupta, President, India Two-Wheeler Business, TVS Motor Company, said, “This is a company born in India and now it is present in over 90 countries across the world. It is now ever-growing.”

He said the company is witnessing an ever-increasing ‘fan base’ for the products.

“We have over 60 million customers across the world today. We are expecting to take it even higher with new product lines,” he said.

The limited-edition line-up features a unique black-champagne-gold livery, dual-tone alloy wheels, USB charger, and much more — making them true collector’s pieces.

The new 4V variants that will sit at the top of the existing TVS Apache RTR 160 and 200 lineup get added features like cutting-edge Class-D projector headlamps featuring LED DRLs, vibrant all-LED lighting, 5-inch connected TFT cluster, traction control system, bold new colours, and dynamic graphics.

Speaking to IBNS, Babu Rengarajan, Vice President, Research & Development, TVS Motor Company said: “The customers are expecting a lot from us and it is pushing us to cross the boundaries.”

When asked about the future progress and development that could be seen in Apache in the coming years, he said, “It is always important for us to make our products relevant.”

“It is absolutely not enough to load our products with only new technologies. We believe the products should add value and give a stunning experience to our customers,” he said.

“TVS heavily invests in its R&D. In the 20-year journey of Apache, you have seen how we have offered the best engineering and technological advancements to our customers,” he said.
