In line with this recovery, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) successfully concluded its annual Hong Kong Travel Mission to India, held from August 18 to 26 across five major cities — Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

The mission saw participation from a 41-member delegation representing Hong Kong’s tourism industry. These included major attractions, theme parks, airlines, cruise lines, leading hotels, and destination management companies. Together, they engaged with over 750 Indian travel agents and tourism professionals, including representatives from important satellite markets, an official news release stated.

Indian travellers are showing increased interest in Hong Kong, especially for leisure, family holidays, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) travel.

In 2025, 43 percent of visitors from India travelled to Hong Kong for the first time. Group and family travel grew significantly, from 29 percent in the first quarter to 43 percent in the second quarter. The average stay for Indian tourists is now four nights, with nearly two-thirds opting for overnight visits. India also ranks 5th globally in per capita spending in Hong Kong, showing rising demand for high-quality travel experiences.

Connectivity has been a key factor in this growth. There are currently 53 direct flights every week from Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. This has made Hong Kong one of the most accessible international destinations in Asia for Indian travellers, as per the release.

The MICE segment has also shown a strong rebound. In the first half of 2025, 55,587 Indian delegates visited Hong Kong for business events, marking a 33 percent year-on-year rise.
