Ed Sheeran stuns in bridal avatar opposite Rupert Grint in latest video

After a long gap of over a decade, Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran have come together once again, this time in a surprising and surreal music video that has caught the attention of fans around the world. The Harry Potter actor appears in Sheeran’s latest release, A Little More, which was unveiled ahead of the singer-songwriter’s upcoming album Play, slated for release on 12th September 2025.

Directed by Emil Nava, the video marks a thematic continuation of Sheeran’s 2011 hit Lego House, in which Grint played an obsessed fan. In this new narrative, Grint’s character is seen re-entering society after spending 14 years in prison. He tries to rebuild his life step by step, attending therapy sessions, participating in a “Stalkers Anonymous” support group, and finding employment as a cleaner at a grand mansion.

As the story progresses, Grint’s character meets a woman, played by Nathalie Emmanuel, and their relationship develops into romance. He eventually proposes to her. However, the narrative takes an unexpected turn as Grint begins experiencing hallucinations involving Sheeran. The musician appears in multiple avatars, including a prison officer, therapist, fellow cleaner, and even as a guest at the wedding. The surrealism peaks when, on the wedding day, every guest is revealed to be Sheeran, and as Grint lifts the bride’s veil, it is Sheeran’s face he sees. The video concludes with the two characters dancing under a disco ball, Sheeran now wearing a wedding gown.

Sharing a behind-the-scenes update on Instagram, Sheeran wrote, “I hadn’t worked with @rupertgrint in 14 years since Lego House, so I wasn’t sure if he’d agree to this idea. But I’m so glad he did.” He further added, “It was the longest video shoot I’d done at that point, and definitely the one with the most costume changes.”

The track A Little More has been co-written by Sheeran along with Dave, Johnny McDaid, Blake Slatkin, and Cirkut. The lyrics explore emotions of lingering resentment and conflicted love, with lines such as, “life got better when I lost you / but every day I hate you just a little more.”

Grint, known widely for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, was last seen in M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin (2023) and had earlier wrapped up his role in the psychological thriller series Servant, which concluded in the same year after four seasons.

A Little More comes on the heels of Sheeran’s earlier singles Sapphire, Azizam, and Old Phone. He also collaborated recently with Indian playback singer Arijit Singh for a special version of Sapphire, further broadening the album’s musical reach.
