Actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin killed in Delhi after parking dispute; 2 arrested

Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, was reportedly killed in a violent incident in Delhi late Thursday night, following what began as a minor parking dispute. The tragedy occurred around 11 pm in Bhogal Market Lane, located in the Jangpura area. Two accused were arrested in connection with the killing.

The altercation reportedly started when Asif asked his neighbour to move a scooter that was blocking the entrance to his gate. The seemingly routine request quickly escalated into a heated argument. Amid the confrontation, the neighbour allegedly attacked Asif with a sharp object, inflicting severe injuries.

Asif had clashes with accused in the past

According to Asif’s wife, he and the accused had clashed on previous occasions, suggesting a history of tension between them. This time, however, the dispute turned deadly. “My man has been deliberately and conspiratorially killed,” she said while speaking to the media. Asif was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

His family members have alleged that the killing was both brutal and senseless, highlighting how a petty issue spiralled into a fatal act of violence. They have called for strict action against the accused, who fled the scene after the attack.

Both accused nabbed after manhunt

Police registered a case of murder and both the accused were arrested following a manhunt, reported India Today. While cops are examining the motive and circumstances leading up to the attack, they are also looking into the past disputes between the two men. The investigation is ongoing.

Not much is known about Asif Qureshi’s personal life, but his extended family has strong ties to both the entertainment and hospitality industries. He was a distant cousin of Bollywood actors Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem.

Huma Qureshi is celebrated for her versatile performances in films such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Badlapur and Monica, O My Darling. Saqib Saleem has also made his mark with notable roles in 83, Race 3, Bard of Blood and other projects. Both siblings hail from a prominent South Delhi family.

Their father, Saleem Qureshi, is a successful restaurateur who owns a popular chain of eateries operating in several major cities across India. The family is widely respected in both business and cultural circles.
