Miracle of Mind meditation app officially launches in Singapore to support mental well-being

The ‘Miracle of Mind’ app, a free 7-minute guided meditation tool, was officially launched on May 24 at the Yong Pung How School of Law in the Singapore Management University (SMU) Campus. Developed under the guidance of spiritual leader Sadhguru and supported by the Isha Foundation, the app is designed as a simple, science-backed solution to help individuals build emotional resilience, reduce stress, and improve focus through daily meditation.

This launch comes at a time when mental health issues are becoming an increasingly urgent concern both globally and locally.

According to a World Health Organization fact sheet from October 2024, 14 percent of adolescents aged 10–19 experience mental health conditions, with depression, anxiety, and behavioural disorders being the leading causes of illness and disability among them.

Suicide has also been highlighted as the third leading cause of death among people aged 15–29 worldwide. Experts warn that if adolescent mental health issues are not addressed early, they can persist into adulthood, affecting both mental and physical health.

Mental health concerns are not limited to the young. A global study by the University of Queensland and Harvard Medical School estimates that half the world’s population will experience some form of mental illness by age 75.

In the United States, a 2021 study by the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) showed that 22.8 percent of adults experienced mental illness, while 5.5 percent suffered from serious mental illness. Among youth aged 6–17, 16.5 percent were affected by mental health disorders.

In India, mental health has been highlighted in the Economic Surveys of 2024 and 2025 and in a recent position paper by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It is estimated that 15 percent of India’s adult population requires mental health intervention, with urban areas showing higher rates than rural ones. Alarmingly, between 70 percent to 92 percent of those with mental health conditions are not receiving adequate treatment. These findings call for a community-based approach to mental well-being.

Singapore, too, is seeing rising concerns. The National Population Health Survey 2022 revealed that one in six Singaporeans has faced mental health issues. A joint study by the Institute of Mental Health and the National Healthcare Group found that one in three youths between 15 and 35 years old reported severe or extremely severe symptoms of depression, anxiety or stress.

In response, Singapore has introduced initiatives like Grow Well SG, Healthier SG, the National Mental Health and Well-being Strategy, and Age Well SG to address the issue holistically.

The “Miracle of Mind” app aligns with these national efforts, offering a practical and accessible mental wellness tool. Entirely free to use with no ads or subscription fees, the app provides a 7-minute guided meditation rooted in yogic science and supported by modern research. It uses artificial intelligence to offer personalised insights from Sadhguru and tracks user progress through milestones and streaks.

Since its global release, the app has surpassed 1 million downloads within 15 hours, quickly becoming one of the top wellness apps in the world. Users have reported benefits such as enhanced mental clarity, improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and better interpersonal relationships. The app also encourages users to extend their meditation time over time, promoting a more conscious and mindful way of living.

The Isha Foundation, which has been active in Singapore for several years offering yoga and meditation programmes in English, Mandarin, and Tamil, has developed this app as part of its larger Conscious Planet movement.

“As doctors recommend walking 10,000 steps a day for physical fitness, meditating for just 7 minutes daily can keep our minds in optimal shape,” said Sadhguru.

The app is now available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
