72nd Indian Republic Day celebrations from around the world

The 72nd Republic Day of India was celebrated in India and all over the world with a flag-hoisting ceremony on January 26 2021 with limited members joining in the actual celebrations and a large numbers of the Indian community watching it virtually, in view of the local public health guidelines due to COVID-19. 

The unfurling of the tricolor was followed by the singing of the National Anthem after which the address by the Honorable President of India on the eve of Republic Day was played.  

This was followed by a short cultural program involving local artists, rendition of patriotic songs and traditional dances or performances. 

In Singapore besides FB Live of all the action at the Indian High Commission, there was a special 8-page supplement published in The Straits Times for the first time.

In Washington Ambassador of India, H.E. Taranjit Singh Sandhu complimented the community for their work during the pandemic and their role in bringing India and the US closer.

He said that the Indian Government "looks forward to working with the new Administration, led by President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. From outer space to nanotechnology, from the Indo-Pacific to climate change, from healthcare to education & IT, there is a recognition, that our partnership can benefit, not just our two nations, but the entire world."

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who was unable to make the trip to attend the Republic Day in India, conveyed his wishes in a warm message. There were celebrations (while observing restrictions prescribed by the UK Government due to pandemic) in several parts of the country. 
 

In Dubai it was a mesmerising visual of the Indian tricolor on the Burj Khalifa that greeted all on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day, echoing the ever growing relations between the UAE and India. 

The Indian Consulate building in Dubai too was illuminated in tricolour lights. 

The Indian embassy in Doha shared greetings from the Indian Community led by HE Dr. Deepak Mittal, the High Commissioner of India to Qatar. 

The Indian Embassy in France shared the warm greetings from President Emmanuel Macron. 
"Your leadership is invaluable and India-France strategic partnership is important to help shape a world mirrored in our shared vision and ideals", tweeted Ambassador of India to France. 

HE Ambassador Jawed Ashraf who also addressed the Indian community in France.
