Dubai’s setting up of international cardiology centre to put it on global medical tourism map

Known for its pristine beauty and brush with modernity, Dubai is now going to boast of an international centre of cardiology. It will bolster the image of the city on the global medical tourism map.

In this connection, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) made the announcement regarding establishment of an international centre of cardiology in Dubai in collaboration with the New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Recently, Humaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board and director-general of the DHA, made an official visit to the US and signed an agreement with New York Presbyterian Hospital

After signing of the agreement, Al Qatami said, “The DHA is aware of the growing demand for its specialised health services across hospitals, primary care centres and specialised centres.”

He added, “Cardiology is one of the most important fields of medicine and the establishment of an international centre for cardiology will increase Dubai's competitive capabilities on the international medical front. It will further bolster its position on the global medical tourism map.”
