Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had a special tweet on his sweet 50. The National award winner tweeted, “Every cloud has a silver lining but with ur love my clouds got a lining of Gold!As my age #TurnsGold, here's the poster of a film close to my heart.”
The actor, who translated his 50 years into seconds, minutes, days, weeks and years on his social handles, creating moments of intrigue and excitement within his fans and the trade.
One of the most awaited releases of 2018, the poster gives us reflective hints into a dream that united a nation. Gold is a biopic based on the life of hockey player Balbir Singh, who was on the team that won the first Olympic medal for India as a free nation in 1948.
The film, shot across UK and India, is a maiden association between Ritesh Sidhwani, Akshay Kumar and Farhan Akhtar. It is directed by Reema Kagti who have made successful films such as Honeymoon Travels and Talaash.
Internationally distributed by Zee Studios International, Gold is slated to release on August 15, 2018.
