Tax refund email doing the rounds is a scam, warns IRAS

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has advised members of the public to ignore an image of a scam email titled 'Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore-Refund-Online-Confirmation'.

The image of the scam email is being re-circulated via WhatsApp, IRAS said in a statement.

The message claims that the recipient is eligible for a tax refund. It then requests the recipient to click on a link to download a tax refund form and complete it to obtain the refund.

IRAS urged recipients of said scam to not respond to the email, nor further circulate the image via Whatsapp.
