Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees Bollywood’s highest weekend grosser in Singapore

Shah Rukh Khan’s return as an angry young man on silver screen after almost two decades has done wonders for his latest release – ‘Raees’.

The film has not just entered the 100-crore club in the domestic market but also raked in moolah worldwide.

‘Raees’ has minted around USD 6.7 million overseas in the first four days of its release. As per the latest reports, the film has become highest earning Bollywood weekend grosser in Singapore with an estimated collection of USD 226,000.

Not only ‘Raees, but Shah Rukh’s ‘Dilwale’ was also a phenomenal success in Singapore and Malaysia. ‘Dilwale’s song ‘Gerua’ was translated in Malay and in a Shah Rukh Khan crazy Malaysia that led to a massive jump in iTunes download of the song. It had reportedly become the highest grossing and the only Bollywood movie to mint US$ 1 million mark at the Singapore box-office.

‘Raees’ hit the screens on January 25, 2017, Shah Rukh Khan along with Mahira Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Atul Kulkarni, Narendra Jha, Sheeba Chadha and Sunny Leone. The foot tapping music of the film is already topping the charts.
