An Indian nurse was found dead at her apartment at Karama in Dubai.
The deceased has been identified as Santhi Thomas (30), hailing from Kottayam district of Kerala. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her husband Joby on his return from work, according to a Dubai-based newspaper.
The victim was working with a private hospital. Her father KV Thomas was the former vice president of the Payippad panchayat in Changanassery.
According to sources, Santhi had been married to Joby for four years and joined him in Dubai around two years ago. The couple has a three-year-old daughter, who has been living with Joby’s family in Kerala.
“The couple had some discord between them and the child is living with her father’s parents. They said she had earlier booked a ticket to go home and it was cancelled,” revealed a family source.
However, Santhi’s relatives have alleged foul play in the death. The Dubai police have begun investigation into the incident and have interrogated Joby.
