Five things to do over the weekend of April 8-9

A wide array of activities await you this weekend in the sunny island of Singapore.

Indulge in snacks from all over the world at the World Snack Fair 2017, or browse through unique art works by local artists at the Art + Design Market. Alternatively, join in the farewell party for Red Dot Museum along Maxwell Road, which is known for its eye-catching red hue – it will be restored to its original off-white colour.

Here are the details to our picks for this weekend:

Featuring artefacts from the Asian Civilisations Museum, it is divided into four sections. You'll get to peruse historical religious texts on the cosmos and learn about the birth of astronomy. You can also explore new astronomical advances, black holes and dark matter, as well as questions about alien life, robotics and the future of mankind through artworks.

Finally, view and ponder about art pieces that are specifically designed to be flown and exhibited in space.
