Bollywood stars add dash of glamour at Masala Awards in Dubai

The presence of Bollywood stars added a dash of glow and glamour at the Masala Awards 2017 organised in Dubai. Sridevi stole the limelight as she was presented the Best Actress Award while Govinda was given the honour of Dancing Legend of Bollywood.

Pakistani actresses Mahira Khan and Saba Qamar were also present at the award show organised at the sprawling Bollywood Parks, Dubai Parks and Resort. Actor Arjun Rampal bagged an award for Contribution to Cinema at the extravaganza held at the Bollywood Parks, Dubai Parks and Resort.

Govinda was given the Dancing Legend of Bollywood honour, and he justified the title with a lively performance at the event here on Wednesday night.

Sridevi donned an exquisite sequinned creation by Malhotra, and she looked evergreen as she picked up the Best Actress Award.

Mahira made a style statement in a wine coloured strapless gown with a diamond necklace and had her hair pulled back with minimal make-up. She walked away with the Asian Woman of Substance Award.

Hindi Medium actor Saba Qamar was presented with the Best Breakthrough Performance award for the movie which also starred Irrfan Khan in the lead role. Sharing a photo of herself with the award, Saba wrote, “Thank you Masala for honouring me with this award. You made my day. I would like to thank all my fans from around the globe for all the love and appreciation they have given me. Thank you!

Govinda justified the title given to him giving a lively performance while Ankita Lokhande’s also displayed energetic moves.

The jury for the awards consisted of eminent names from the business, lifestyle and hospitality industry including Manish Malhotra, Yogesh Mehta, Sara Belhasa and Celina Jaitly.

The award show was hosted by Masala magazine, which recognises some of the most prominent lifestyle and entertainment names from the pan Asian community within the United Arab Emirates.
