Deepika, who revealed her battle with depression in 2015, runs the Live Love Laugh Foundation, which aims to help those struggling with their mental health as well as works to destigmatise mental illnesses.

"Mental illness has presented us all with a very tough challenge. But my love hate relationship with mental illness has taught me so much. To be patient is one. That you are not alone, but most importantly that there is hope," said Deepika in her acceptance speech, signing off with a quote from Martin Luther King. "In the words of Martin Luther King, 'Everything that is done in the world, is done by hope.'"

The Crystal award was presented to Shah Rukh Khan at WEF 2018, along with Sir Elton John and Cate Blanchett, for his efforts to rehabilitate acid attack survivors through his non-profit organisation, Meer Foundation.
