Unblinking Seconds - the film that gave Anurag Kashyap his Tamil identity

Anurag Kashyap's performance garnered critical acclaim in Imaikkaa Nodigal  (Unblinking Seconds), a 2018 Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller.

Released on 30 August 2018 it received positive reviews especially for the edgy, sharp witted, serial killer role essayed by Kashyap.

For award winning director, producer, writer Kashyap, this was his Tamil film debut, the trailer of which crossed 1 million views in a single day.

Small wonder then, that among the Tamil-speaking diaspora the recognition is immediate, but as ‘Rudra’ and not as Anurag.

"I get more recognised in places like Singapore and France and Canada where Tamilians are because of that movie," Kashyap told Connected to India. The director of Imaikkaa Nodigal, Ajay Gnanamuthu had Kashyap in mind from the beginning as a ‘pan-Indian actor’ who could do justice to the role and Kashyap as ‘Rudra’ more than lived up to that expectation.
